CONSTANT PAIN - Raynaud’s Syndrome.
"My medical problems began approximately 30 years ago. Shortly after my wedding I began to lose weight. After having lost 3 stone in about 6 months I visited my GP as I was experiencing constant trouble with my nerves. A blood test revealed that I had an overactive thyroid. I was prescribed Thyroxin capsules and although the problem kept recurring from time to time, I am pleased to say that it is now stable.
Shortly after I had moved to my present home, some 17 years ago, I began to experience serious problems again. My arms, legs and fingers felt heavy and I was unable to move them without constant pain. I again visited my GP, who referred me to 3 Specialists over a period of 4 years. I had a number of blood tests and X-rays which revealed that the problem lay with my blood. I was prescribed several different drugs to deal with the circulation problems, but none provided much relief.
The consultation with the third Specialist was based on a belief that my problem was either rheumatism or arthritis, but revealed that I had suffered from Raynaud’s Syndrome. He prescribed Praxaline, which helped me in some ways but did not rid me of the nagging pains.
After a further ten years of suffering, I consulted my GP again (a new Doctor this time as my old GP had retired). He again referred me to one of the Specialists I had previously seen, but without any success. As you can imagine, all these consultations with Specialists had cost me a considerable amount of money over the years.
When I came to see you for the first time recently, I had been getting very little sleep because the pain was unbearable much of the time. The only way I was able to get any sleep at all was to place a pillow between my knees and ankles to prevent them touching and causing stabbing pains.
Although I still feel the cold, I can honestly say that the pains have almost completely disappeared as a result of your Acupuncture treatment. The improvement has been quite remarkable.
Once again, thank you very much for all your help.”
